Beaver Falls, PA – Playing its third home game in as many nights, Geneva′s volleyball team was still in search of its first victory on its current home stand. After dropping matches on Thursday and Friday, the Golden Tornadoes needed to find a victory on Saturday and that is exactly what they did with a 3-1 decision over Ursuline College. The victory helped improve Geneva′s overall record to 8-10, including a 4-3 mark within the AMC North.

The Golden Tornadoes held out for a hard fought 34-32 victory in game one and then cruised past Ursuline in game two. Geneva allowed Ursuline back in the match after losing the third game. Despite a scrappy Arrows team, the Golden Tornadoes held off Ursuline 30-28 in the fourth and deciding game of the match.

Geneva′s combination of Marisa Barickman and Megan Summers once again proved to be a dynamic duo at the net on offense and defense. Helped along by Geneva′s other two senior leaders Caryn Azure, as Geneva′s assist leader, and Allison Seldomridge, Geneva′s leader in defensive digs, the Golden Tornadoes found a way to pick up a key conference victory.

Geneva will be back in action on Tuesday night when it hosts Seton Hill University. Next weekend, the Golden Tornadoes will travel to Clarion University for a tournament on Friday and Saturday. Geneva′s next AMC North action will be October 13th when it hosts Daemen College.
