Hall Returns to Old Form, Grabs NCCAA Honors

Beaver Falls, PA - If Brian Hall would have come back slowly after missing the majority of the 2005 season because of an ankle injury, nobody would have questioned his ability. As it turned out, Hall not only came back to his old form in Geneva′s 7-0 opening loss to Thiel, he was honored by the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) as the National Player of the Week.

Hall helped Geneva′s defense hold Thiel College to just seven points, which is almost 30 point below its average from a year ago. Hall had a hand in 18 tackles, including six solo efforts and 3.5 tackles for loss.

Regaining his familiar role as one of Geneva′s inside linebackers, Hall didn′t seem to miss a beat in his first game action in nearly a year. Geneva′s leading defensive tackler from 2002-2004, Hall currently ranks fifth on Geneva′s all-time tackles list. A two-time MSFA All-Conference performer, Hall is considered one of the top linebackers in the country.

Despite the 7-0 loss to Thiel in the season opener, Hall and his teammates are looking toward a very successful 2006 campaign. Hall spent his off time last season working in Geneva′s press box as an extra defensive coach and now he is serving as a coach on the field for the Golden Tornadoes. Missing out on Geneva′s play-off run from a year ago, Hall is hopeful to end his successful career with one more shot at the post-season.

Hall and the rest of the Golden Tornadoes will get their next test on Saturday afternoon when they host Olivet Nazarene University at Reeves Stadium with the kickoff scheduled for 1:30 pm.
