Beaver Falls, PA – Good things come to those that wait or patience is a virtue. Whatever cliché you choose to go with, they all sound just fine for Geneva′s men′s soccer team and first year head coach Todd Beall. Finally in Geneva′s 12 game of the season, the Golden Tornadoes were able to put one in the victory column. Geneva cruised to a 4-0 victory over Myers University on Saturday night at Merriman Athletic Complex and put an end to its 11-match winless streak. Geneva improved to 1-8-3 and was able to match its goal total for the season with four tallies on Saturday night.

Geneva dominated Myers from the opening whistle and out shot its opponent 25-5 on the night. Sam McCracken picked up his third shut-out of the season in making just three saves for the victory. But on this night, it was all about head coach Todd Beall′s first victory as a head coach an about the Geneva offense which finally came alive after four consecutive scoreless matches.

Coert Voorhees got Geneva off and running with the game′s only goal of the first half. In the 20^th minute, Geneva and Voorhees took advantage of a Myers giveaway and the Golden Tornadoes were off and running.

In the second half, it took Geneva 15 minutes to get some insurance and it came off the foot of Ryan Henretty. Henretty found the net off of a pass from H.P. McCracken to build Geneva′s lead to 2-0. It was then McCracken, Geneva′s leading goal scorer from a year ago, who ended his own scoring frustrations with his first goal of the season with assists going to A.J. Tardio and Mark Zurbrick.

For Geneva, however, the best was yet to come. Neville Lebga have the Geneva fans quite a show for the fourth and final goal. In what may have been one of the prettiest goals in school history, Lebga took a pass inside the box and flipping through the air, he buried the ball in the back of the net with a bicycle kick that quite simply awed everyone in attendance.

Lebga′s goal secured Geneva′s 4-0 victory and also helped give the Golden Tornadoes hope for the rest of the season. Beall has been waiting for just this type of break-out game and hopefully his boys can turn things around and end the season in style. Geneva remains just 0-1-1 in the AMC North and is more than in the thick of the play-off push.

Geneva will attempt to build upon its win and put together its first winning streak of the season when it gets back in action on Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes will travel to Notre Dame College for an AMC North match. Geneva will return home next Thursday to host Waynesburg College.
