S. Euclid, OH – Geneva′s volleyball team continued its mid-season rampage on Wednesday in dismantling first place Notre Dame College 3-0. It was Geneva′s fourth consecutive AMC North victory and moved the Golden Tornadoes into sole possession of second place and within just one game of the top spot. Overall, Geneva moved to 12-16, including an 8-3 conference mark.

After sneaking past Notre Dame 31-29 in game one, Geneva took total control of the match with convincing victories in the final two games, including a 30-18 one-sided score in the third and final game of the match.

Caryn Azure played the game of her life at the setter position for Geneva with an incredible 49 assists (16.33/per game). Azure also helped out on the service line with three aces in the match. Senior teammate Allison Seldomridge was incredible with 32 digs in the victory. Several Golden Tornadoes helped out at the net, including kills leader Megan Summers with 18 throw-downs. Laura Zimmovan chipped in with 12 kills, while Marisa Barickman did her part with 11 kills and six blocks.

Geneva, coming off an impressive victory over Point Park on Tuesday and a pair of victories last Saturday, has set itself up nicely to make a late season run at the top spot of the AMC North.

The Golden Tornadoes will get another stiff test on Thursday in their third match in as many days. Geneva will welcome Walsh University to Metheny Fieldhouse. Walsh is currently sitting atop the conference standings in the AMC North. Following Thursday′s match, Geneva will get the chance to enjoy a weekend off of competition before heading to Seton Hill next Tuesday.
