Geneva′s Best Kept Secret, Noland, Continues To Dazzle

Beaver Falls, PAIf anyone has attended a Geneva basketball or football game in the last several years, you have been undoubtedly entertained at halftime by one of the most talented athletes to ever come through College Hill. Katie Noland, a recent graduate from Geneva′s MBA program, has been performing her baton routines at halftime of Geneva games for the past three years. Not only is Noland ridiculously talented, she has traveled the world as one of the most decorated baton twirlers in recent history.

In July, Noland became College Miss Majorette of America. Capturing the most prestigious baton twirling title in the country, Noland added another feather to her already impressive cap. Noland won her most recent title competing at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. In fact, she beat out competitors from Division I schools across the country including the likes of SMU, Penn State, USC and West Virginia.

Originally from Royal Palm Beach, FL, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems at the University of Central Florida, Noland moved to Patterson Township, PA to pursue an MBA from Geneva, which she finished this past May.

Competing in the United States was not enough for Noland as she has also recently represented her country in the World Competition at both Marseille, France and Eindhoven, Holland. Noland brought home a bronze medal from both competitions as the #3 twirler in the world.

Noland′s reign as College Miss Majorette of America will end with a special performance at Notre Dame next July during AYOP (America′s Youth on Parade) for approximately 5,000 contestants.

While she continues to enjoy the competitive portion of twirling, Noland has awed the crowds at Reeves Stadium and Metheny Fieldhouse. This fall will be the final football season for Noland performing alongside the Geneva College marching band, which will spell the end of an era at Geneva.

While Geneva′s athletic teams continue to compete for championships and for recognition, the Golden Tornadoes have been fortunate to feature one of the finest athletes around in Katie Noland. Her accomplishments are many and her desire to be the best is something that everyone can learn from in all aspects of life. Hours of training and practice have led to a national championship and perhaps someday, Katie Noland will be #1 in the world. As for now, she will always be #1 on College Hill.
