Cheryl Johnston was hired this month as

Johnston, who will oversee marketing services supporting enrollment and development as well as overall marketing communications for the college, comes to Geneva with almost 25 years of varied experience in communications.

 

“I am glad to have Cheryl join the marketing communications team,” said Ed Vencio, Geneva′s vice president for enrollment, development and marketing. “Her years of professional experience in marketing communications and public relations will be valuable for Geneva as we strive to build awareness and goodwill among the various publics that we need to be communicating and relating with.”

 

Johnston (formerly Clawson) was managing editor of Insulin-Free TIMES, manager of Diabetes Portal′s interactive e-talk station, executive editor of Stadlanders LifeTIMES and LifeTIMES2 magazines and a public relations account supervisor at The Carson Group, Inc. and at MARC and Company. She also worked as the public relations coordinator and office supervisor for the city of Pittsburgh′s department of parks and recreation called “Citiparks.”

 

A native of Latrobe, Pa., and a resident of Ohio Township, Pa., Johnston graduated from Point Park College in Pittsburgh with degrees in journalism and communications. She and her husband, Dave, have two children.

 

Johnston said she is thrilled to work at an institution where glorifying God is the overarching goal.
