It did, however, get better for Bruno and the Golden Tornadoes as he laced a game winning triple with two outs in the bottom of the eighth to secure a two-game sweep and a 5-4 victory in the night cap. Geneva moved its overall record to 17-12, including a 4-2 mark in the AMC North.\n            Geneva fell behind 2-0 in game one when Notre Dame plated a pair of runs in the top of the first. The lead was short-lived as Geneva bounced back with a five-spot in the third inning sparked by six hits, including a solo homer from Matt Colella. With the score 6-4 in the bottom of the sixth, Mike Bruno put the game out of reach with a grand slam for his third hit of the game and a total of five RBI′s. Rob Arata, Andy Lubich and Andy Hiskey each had two hits to help in Geneva′s victory. Matt Colella pitched a complete game to earn the victory. He struck out three in the game.\n            Geneva again found itself behind in game two. In fact, Notre Dame took a 4-1 lead into the sixth inning. The Golden Tornadoes pushed one run across in the sixth, which set the stage for a dramatic seventh inning. Trailing by two, Geneva got a two-run single from Dan DeMarco to tie the game. In the eighth, Mike Bruno lashed a triple to the game, which allowed Andy Hiskey to score the game winning run. Derek Sumner pitched seven innings, but did not figure in on the decision. Justin Montgomery pitched a scoreless eighth inning to earn his first victory of the season.\n            Because of snowy conditions in the Cleveland area, Geneva will again host Notre Dame on Wednesday morning for two more AMC North games beginning at 11 am.","author":null,"publishDate":"2007-04-10","type":"Athletics Press Release","title":"April 10, 2007","imageDesc":"","url":"/article/io_1176253651194","blogCategories":"","id":"8bddc5ab0a1504317d582674b2674d91","detailUrl":"/news/2007/04/io_1176253651194.json","sourcePath":null,"slug":"io_1176253651194"}}
