BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College Symphonic Band will perform its annual spring concert on Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Beaver Falls Middle School Auditorium.

Geneva′s symphonic band is made up of 65 students, all from different majors and disciplines. The band will play several traditional and contemporary works, including The Redwoods, Parable, First Suite for Band, and Allegro Babaro. The band will also play The Concertino for Flute, with featured soloist Lauren McBurney, a senior music education and music performance major from Beaver Falls.

The concert will also feature Geneva′s jazz band, which will play several selections from its recent twelfth annual “In the Mood” concert.

Both the symphonic and jazz bands perform under the direction of Don Kephart, who is also chair of the music department and assistant professor of music at Geneva. Kephart says that his aim in music instruction is to “keep as many musical gifts flowing as possible” by strengthening and encouraging the talents of Geneva students.

The concert is free and open to the public.
