Just three weeks into the 2007 campaign, the Golden Tornadoes have nearly doubled that total while cruising to a 5-1 start, including victories in their last five games. One of the main reasons for the early season success has been the play of junior goalkeeper Sam McCracken. After allowing a pair of goals in Geneva′s first match of the season, McCracken has now gone two weeks without allowing a goal.\nOn Thursday, McCracken′s heroics did not get lost as he was named the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) student-athlete of the week. With a goalkeeper record of 5-1, McCracken is boasting a 0.35 goals against average. Included in his five victories are three shut-outs by the junior goalkeeper. In fact, McCracken is currently riding a streak of 458 consecutive scoreless minutes.\nLast week, McCracken led Geneva to a perfect 3-0 record, including a pair of 1-0 victories over LaRoche and Pitt-Johnstown. McCracken and the Golden Tornadoes will put all their streaks on the line this Saturday night when they host Franciscan University at the Merriman Athletic Complex at 7 p.m.","author":null,"publishDate":"2007-09-13","type":"News Release","title":"September 13, 2007","imageDesc":"","url":"/article/io_1189714395006","blogCategories":"","id":"8b4776c40a1504317d582674cc378cdb","detailUrl":"/news/2007/09/io_1189714395006.json","sourcePath":null,"slug":"io_1189714395006"}}
