WINLESS STREAK CONTINUES TO FOLLOW GENEVA

Crestview Hills, KY - Geneva′s women′s volleyball team tried its luck in Kentucky on Saturday against PAC foes Washington & Jefferson and Thomas More. Although the Golden Tornadoes managed to take W & J to the limit, they still fell short and ended the day with two more losses and a 0-11 mark to start the 2007 season.

Geneva dropped a 3-2 decision to W & J by scores of 30-22, 13-30, 30-28, 15-30, 16-14. Despite outscoring W & J, the Golden Tornadoes were saddled with their 10th straight loss. In the second match of the day, Thomas More got past Geneva in three straight games by scores of 30-26, 30-21, 30-26.

Adriane Blake and Sarah Bruck were a dynamic duo on Saturday, but their heroics did not prove to be enough. Blake threw down a combined 39 kills in the two matches and posted a hitting percentage over 40%. Meanwhile, Bruck had 29 kills and was also killing the ball at a very high rate. Brandi Snavely had 53 assists against W & J and added 30 more helpers in the night cap. Elizabeth Fisher posted 29 digs in the first match, while Faith Guerra chipped in with 28 digs against Thomas More.

Geneva will look to get out of its current rut and seek its first victory of 2007 when it heads to Carnegie Mellon next weekend for a two-day invitational.
