KILLER B′S CRUISE PAST W & J

Beaver Falls, PA- Two weeks into the volleyball season, co-head coaches Wendy Smith and Curt Conser, were convinced their Geneva volleyball team was much better than their 0-11 record indicated. On Wednesday night, Geneva won for the sixth time in seven matches, including three straight as it cruised to a 3-0 shutout victory over Washington & Jefferson. Never challenged all night, Geneva won games by scores of 30-20, 30-22, 30-23.

After losing its first 11 matches of the season, Geneva has turned its fortunes drastically and has now won seven out of its last ten matches.

On Wednesday night, the Killer B′s of Adriane Blake and Sarah Bruck stung yet another opponent. The duo combined for 26 kills with Blake leading the way with 16 in the victory. Another Killer B, Brandi Snavely, entered the match with an average of over ten assists per match. Snavely improved upon that number with 37 helpers in the victory. Elizabeth Fisher led the defense with 12 digs, while also making an impact on the service line with a team best six service aces.

Geneva will try to keep rolling over the weekend as it travels to Westminster to battle the Titans and Grove City in a PAC tri-match. Geneva will return home next Monday to face Chatham at 7 pm.
