As Geneva dropped to 3-2, Grove City improved to 4-1 in one of the most bizarre and controversial finishes you will ever see at the college level.\n            Geneva trailed by 13 points at 70-57 with 4:05 to play when the Golden Tornadoes began inching back into the game. When Grove City′s Ryan Gibson missed the front end of a one and one with 11 seconds remaining, the Golden Tornadoes had a chance to make the comeback complete. Trailing 73-71 in the final seconds, Bryan Hill knocked down a 22-footer to give Geneva and apparent victory at the buzzer. Geneva′s fans rushed the floor in celebration, but the officials determined there should still be 0.5 seconds remaining on the clock.\n            Prior to the ball being in bounded after a Grove City timeout, Geneva′s Rob Whitt was whistled for a foul when he collided with Gibson. Gibson was awarded two foul shots that he converted to give the Wolverines a one-point lead. A desperation Mike Ross pass the full length of the court found Greg McDivitt, who appeared to be contacted as he put up a last second attempt. No foul was called and Geneva was forced to suffer a tough loss against the pre-season PAC favorites.\n            After missing two weeks of games and practices with an infection in his arm, Geneva′s Greg McDivitt made up for lost time. McDivitt scored a career high 33 points and pulled down a career best 14 rebounds in the loss. He was 9-13 from the field and 15-16 from the foul line. Along with McDivitt, it was the energy of Mike Ross during the final four minutes that sparked Geneva′s comeback. Ross finished with six rebounds, five of which came on the offensive end of the court. Geneva′s Bryan Hill added 16 points and Justin Nardi scored 14 points.\n            Grove City got 14 points from Joe Capotosta off the bench and 12 points from Shawn Carr, including three second half treys.\n            Geneva will not have much time to dwell on its loss as the Golden Tornadoes will turn around and play Saturday night against its first NCAA Division I opponent in 18 years. Geneva will travel to Cleveland State on Saturday night before returning home next Wednesday to host Washington & Jefferson.  ","author":null,"publishDate":"2007-11-30","type":"Athletics Press Release","title":"November 30, 2007","imageDesc":"","url":"/article/io_1196476616286","blogCategories":"","id":"8bf327490a1504317d5826749f86216b","detailUrl":"/news/2007/11/io_1196476616286.json","sourcePath":null,"slug":"io_1196476616286"}}
