Beaver Falls, PA – For the fifth time in school history Geneva′s football program will be playing in the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) Victory Bowl. Geneva (7-2) will host Malone (7-3) in the 11th annual Victory Bowl to be played at Reeves Field on November 17th at 6 p.m.

The two rivals have played 15 times since the series started in 1993 and Malone holds a slight 8-7 advantage. Ironically, the 2007 season was the first since Malone began football in 1993 that the two schools were not scheduled.

Geneva is in its first season as a member of NCAA Division III and the Presidents′ Athletic Conference, while Malone remains a member of the Mid-States Football Association.

Geneva has enjoyed four previous appearances in the Victory Bowl and has come away win victories in each of those games. The Golden Tornadoes won back to back Victory Bowl games in 1998 and 1999 with wins over Maranatha Baptist and Mid-America Nazarene. The Golden Tornadoes repeated that feat in 2002 and 2003 with back to back wins over Northwestern College, MN and North Greenville, SC.

In addition to the Victory Bowl on November 17th, Geneva′s men′s basketball team will be hosting its annual Tip-Off Tournament at Metheny Fieldhouse on Friday and Saturday. In another ironic twist, the Golden Tornadoes basketball team will be hosting Malone′s hoopsters on Saturday at 3 p.m., which sets up the rarest of doubleheaders between Geneva and Malone.

Admission for the basketball tournament is by donation only with all the proceeds benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer and the American Cancer Society. Admission into Reeves Field for the Victory Bowl will be $6 for adults, 5$ for senior citizens and $3 for students. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday evening.
