Geneva Hurler Earns Player of the Week Honors

Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva College junior pitcher Mike Trn was selected as the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) national player of the week. Trn pitched a pair of complete game victories for the Golden Tornadoes last week with wins over Washington & Jefferson and Thiel in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.

Trn helped the Golden Tornadoes to a 4-3 victory over Washington & Jefferson with a complete game three hit effort while striking out three batters. Four days later, Trn led Geneva to another 4-3 victory. This time, the junior allowed five hits against Thiel College.

Trn is 4-1 on the season with a 6.00 ERA while the Golden Tornadoes are sitting at 12-8 midway through the 2011 campaign.
