Geneva will be hosting Bible, Ministry & Philosophy Day on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is designed for students who are considering a major in biblical studies, Christian ministry, student ministry or philosophy.
“In the Bible department, we think in three themes,” explains Dr. Jonathan Watt, chair of the Bible department and one of the leaders of the event. “Those themes are academic excellence, personal spiritual formation and Christian service. We want all three themes to come out in various ways during the day.”
The day begins with an 8:30 a.m. arrival time followed by a choice of attending either a Bible or philosophy class at 9:05 a.m. A campus tour begins at 10:10 a.m., followed by lunch.
At 12:20 p.m., participants will attend a session to learn about navigating the financial aid process. Attendees can then choose to meet with athletic coaches or attend a panel discussion with current students in these programs.
A departmental presentation begins at 1:25 p.m., and the event wraps up with a reception with faculty, current students and alumni.
