Latrobe, PA- Geneva volleyball defeated conference opponent St. Vincent 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-21) Tuesday evening on the road. The win raises Geneva′s overall record to 18-8, 11-2 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.
"We went to St. Vincent knowing they have been playing really well recently so coming away with a 3-0 was big. They played well," said co-head coach Curt Conser.
Freshman Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton) led the offensive explosion with 14 kills in 28 swings while only giving up two errors.
On the other side of the ball, Alexis Ritson (Irwin, PA/Hempfield) earned 16 digs.
Rachel Netherland (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) set for 33 assists in the three sets.
Tomorrow the Golden Tornadoes head to Waynesburg for a tri-match against Waynesburg at 4 p.m. and Chatham at 6 p.m.
