The talks obviously worked as the Golden Tornadoes allowed just four points in the first half and rolled to a 57-31 win over Notre Dame (MD).\n“We had spent a lot of time coming into the game talking about defense,” said Wynn. “We haven’t had a chance to practice since the last game but we talked about it at the shoot-around this morning.\n“We know that is how we need to play and we did a very good job of it, especially in the first half. We matched up very well against Notre Dame, too.”\nThe matchup advantage was especially evident on the boards – Geneva had a 60-35 edge in rebounding as junior Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy) led with 19 rebounds. Sophomore Nicole Hyland (Trafford. PA/Penn-Trafford), coming off a career high of 23 points, had 21 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman Lydia Songer (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) added 11 points.\nGeneva improves to 3-6 and is already within one win of matching last year’s total. The Golden Tornadoes return to action December 31 at 2 p.m. at Franciscan – the site of last year’s first win.\nGeneva College invites students to step forward and leap ahead with an academically excellent, Christ-centered and affordable education.
