Geneva Indoor Track & Field Excels at Baldwin-Wallace; Men & Women Place Third

Berea, OH – Geneva’s indoor track and field teams heated things up at Baldwin-Wallace on Friday; both programs taking third place.

“We are a very strong team in all aspects of our sport. We have athletes that contribute in the jumps, throws, and on the track. I was very proud of the way the teams performed.”

The women finished with six top five individual finishes – four of which just starting their collegiate careers as true Geneva freshman. Jess Kelosky (Fombell, PA / Riverside) placed first in the 200 meter dash (27.79), second in the 400 meter dash (1:04.45).

Madelyn Blosser (Mechanicsburg, PA / Cumberland Valley) also placed first in the mile race with a time of 5:31.24. Havilah Gaugler (Emsworth, PA / Avonworth) sealed the second place slot in the mile with a time of 5:32.03.

Nicole Bartoletta (Monaca, PA / Central Valley) placed third in the 55 hurdles with an 8.93 finish.

Senior Sara Williams (Wellsboro, PA / New Covenant Academy) didn’t let the freshman have all the fun on the track. Williams finished third in the shotput with an 11.35 meter throw.

In men’s action senior Josh Guiser (Newell, PA / Frazier) ran the 55 meter dash in 6.66 seconds for a second place finish.

Jacob Mellinger (Leetonia, OH / Crestview) placed third in the 200 meter dash (23.30) while Dalton Paxson (Rochester, PA/Rochester) finished fourth in the 55 meter hurdles (8.17).

In the field, Isaac Barringer (Delta, OH / Toledo Christian) earned a third place finished in the shotput with a 13.19 meter throw.

Friday, February 6 the track and field teams head to Oberlin College for a 5 p.m. meet.
