Track & Field’s Jessica Kelosky Set School Record in Early Bird Meet

Kelosky

California, PA – Freshman Jessica Kelosky (Fombell, PA / Riverside) broke the school record in the 100 meter dash at California of Pennsylvania University’s Early Bird meet on Saturday. Kelosky’s 13th place finish set Geneva’s outdoor 100 meter record to 12.74 seconds.

“We had a great meet at Cal U,” said Head Coach Phil Thompson. “We have had a few hard weeks at practice but that didn't stop anyone from having a successful meet. I am very pleased with the way everyone is responding to the training and we will have a great outdoor season."

In addition to Kelosky’s record setting performance, freshman Madelyn Blosser (Mechanicsburg, PA / Cumberland Valley) finished sixth in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:30.54. In the field, senior Sara Williams (Wellsboro, PA / New Covenant Academy) earned a seventh place finish in shot put with the distance of 10.40 meters.

In men’s action junior Jacob Mellinger (Leetonia, OH / Crestview) led the men with a second place finish in the 200 meter dash with a 22.18 time. Junior Dalton Paxson (Rochester, PA /Rochester) finished sixth in the 110 meter hurdles finishing in 16.09 seconds.
