Geneva Earns 10 First Place Finishes hosting Quad North Track Meet

Beaver Falls, PA – Thursday afternoon Geneva hosted Grove City, Westminster and Thiel in its’ annual Quad North Track Meet. On home turf the Golden Tornadoes earned ten first place finishes.

Anna Wargo (Avonworth, PA / Avonworth) and Clayton Smith (Williamsport, MD / Williamsport) each opened up the day’s track events with a first place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Wargo finished in 12:13.00 minutes while Smith finished the men’s race in 10:30.30.

In other track events, Dalton Paxson (Rochester, PA / Rochester) finished first in the men’s 110 meter hurdles (15.81 seconds), Jacob Mellinger (Leetonia, OH / Crestview) earned first place in the men’s 100 meter dash (11.43 seconds), Cameron Unrath (Wexford, PA / Pine Richland) placed first in the men’s 200 meter dash (23.43 seconds) and Madelyn Blosser (Mechanicsburg, PA / Cumberland Valley) took first in the women’s 800 meter run (2:26.09 minutes).

In the field the men dominated with four more first place finishes from Isaac Barringer (Delta, OH / Toledo Christian) in the discus throw (129.7 feet), Clay Joseph (Milton, GA / Alpharetta) in the high jump (5.9 feet), Alex Kennedy (Titusville, PA / Titusville) in the triple jump (41.3 feet) and Aaron Tedys (Riverside, PA / Riverside) in the long jump (20.3 feet).

Friday, April 24 the Golden Tornadoes will compete in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championships hosted this year at Grove City College.
