NEW WILMINGTON, PA - An early goal by sophomore Abel Carleton (Darlington, PA/Beaver County Christian School) gave Geneva an early lead but it wasn’t enough to grab a victory at arch rival Westminster Wednesday night.

The Golden Tornadoes settled for a 1-1 overtime tie, giving them a record of 5-3-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

“We played extremely well for the entire match,” said Geneva coach Gary Dunda. “We out played them for the whole game but they got a curious penalty kick call with about three minutes left that they converted. 

“We have to do a better job of converting our chances so the score would be more like 3-0 at that point but we played well.”

Geneva will return to Presidents’ Athletic Conference action Saturday, hosting Washington & Jefferson at 7:00.
