Women’s Soccer Posts 2-0 Win Over Thiel


Greenville, PA – The Geneva Women’s Soccer Golden Tornadoes posted a 2-0 win against the Thiel Tomcats Wednesday (Oct. 26) night. The road win raises Geneva’s overall record to 5-10, 2-6 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).

Laiton Suders (Chambersburg, PA/Cumberland Valley Christian) had an unassisted goal, finishing an unsuccessful defensive clear, raised Geneva 1-0 at the half.

At 60:53, Kimberly Orihel (Green, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) set up Megan Schoeneweis (Moon, PA/Moon) for her sixth season goal lifting the Golden Tornadoes 2-0 over the Tomcats.

“We played well tonight and it was a good team win,” said head coach Linda Sumner. “Our defense was outstanding and our midfielders and forwards really connected.”

The Golden Tornadoes finish the 2016 season on Saturday, October 29 at Saint Vincent facing the Bearcats at 2 p.m.
