Turnovers Cost Geneva 77-52 Loss at Wittenberg


Springfield, OH – The Golden Tornadoes returned to the hardwood on Thursday, December 29 at Wittenberg’s Charles B. Zimmerman Memorial Classic. The hosts along with the 22 Geneva turnovers handed the Golden Tornadoes a 77-52 loss. The non-conference road loss lowers Geneva’s overall record to 5-4.

“We can’t win games committing 22 turnovers,” said head coach Jeff Santarsiero. “We hope for a quick rebound for tomorrow’s game against Calvin.”

Ethan Moose (New Castle, PA/Neshannock) led the offensive efforts scoring 15 points.

Also scoring double digits was Matt Dragan (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) with 12 and David Oliver (Sewickley, PA/Quaker Valley) with 10. Oliver also grabbed five rebounds along with Chaese Vaudrin (Uniontown, OH/Lake).

Geneva is set to face Calvin College at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, December 30. Calvin was upset by Millikin 68-63 earlier in the day; entering tomorrow’s game with an overall record of 4-6.
