Geneva Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff Set to Showcase Autism Awareness

Beaver Falls, PA – On Saturday, February 4, 2017 the Geneva men’s basketball coaching staff will be showcasing their support of Autism Awareness while hosting the Thomas More Saints at 4 p.m. Head Coach Jeff Santarsiero and staff will be wearing the blue puzzle piece logo from AutismSpeaks.org.

Some facts about Autism that may not be know:

  • There are more than 70 million people with autism worldwide
  • More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes and cancer combined
  • On average, an autism diagnosis costs a family $60K/year
  • Less than 1% of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding goes to autism research

If you would like to join the Geneva College men’s basketball program in support of autism awareness, a donation bucket will be provided at the door and concession stand.
