Geneva Women’s Indoor Track & Field Tally Third Place Finish at PAC Championships

Youngstown, Oh. - Geneva’s indoor women’s track & field recorded its second season placing third in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships on Thursday, February 23. As a team, the Golden Tornadoes scored 103 points in the championship.

“The women's team came to compete today,” said head coach Phil Thompson. “Everyone pitched in to help us earn third. I couldn't be happier with this team. They work hard every day and it paid off today. I am very proud of them.”

Nicole Bartoletta (Monaca, PA/Central Valley) took home three medals from the day’s competition. She is the PAC Champion in the women’s 60 meter hurdles with a final time of 9.05 seconds. She also earned a silver medal in the women’s 200 meter race (26.53) and posted a third place finish in the women’s 60 meter dash (8.07). 

Geneva’s women's Distance Medley Relay team took first place, decorating Hannah Mansell (Reading, PA/Governor Mifflin), Lydia Swartzbaugh (Spartansburg, PA/Spartansburg), Aubrey Milroy (Colorado Springs, CO/Vanguard), and Madelyn Blosser (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) with gold medals.

Jessica Kelosky (Fombell, PA/Riverside) earned a silver medal in the women’s 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.40. She also medaled in the women’s 200 meter dash taking home the bronze with a time of 26.98 seconds.

Sarah Klein (Columbus, IN/Columbus East) showcased a personal record placing third for the bronze medal the women’s 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.97.

In field events, Morgan Peaco (Zelienople, PA/Seneca Valley) placed second in the women’s high jump event. Peaco cleared a height of 1.52 meters for her silver medal.

Kailee Loose (Beaver, PA/Beaver) took home a bronze medal in the women’s long jump posting a 5.16 meter jump.

The women's 4x4 team made up by Klein, Bartoletta, Loose and Kelosky took third place.

In addition to their honors in competition, the league honored the Golden Tornadoes with the 2017 PAC Sportsmanship award.

The Golden Tornadoes are set to kick off the outdoor track & field season on Friday, March 10 at the Seahawk Invitational.
