BEAVER FALLS, PA – Geneva College will officially break ground on its new Wagner Welcome Center during a special ceremony on Friday, September 27, at 4:00 PM. The event will take place on the lawn adjacent to Alumni Hall and next to Alexander Hall Parking lot, the future site of the Wagner Welcome Center, during the college’s annual Homecoming Weekend. This momentous occasion marks a significant step in Geneva’s ongoing commitment to providing an inviting and hospitable experience for students, alumni, friends of the college and visitors.

The ceremony will feature the participation of the Geneva College Board of Trustees, the Geneva College Foundation Board, Geneva College President Calvin L. Troup, PhD, donors, the campus community, and local elected officials. Members of the media are encouraged to attend.

The new Wagner Welcome Center is envisioned as the "front porch" of the Geneva College campus, providing a central hub for prospective students and their families when they visit. Designed with a focus on hospitality, the facility will offer a warm and welcoming space for all visitors, playing a pivotal role in the college’s continued efforts to enhance enrollment and strengthen connections within the broader community. The multi-million dollar, 3 story structure is slated for completion in February of 2026.

Troup says, “This new welcome center will provide a warm, in-person invitation into the Geneva community for everyone who steps onto campus. We look forward to welcoming future generations of students, alumni, and friends into a place that reflects the kingdom community we foster here.”

In addition to the groundbreaking ceremony, Geneva College is preparing to launch the public phase of a major capital campaign in January 2025, which will support the Wagner Welcome Center project as well as renovations to Old Main, one of the College’s historic buildings. The campaign will allow the college to enhance its facilities to support the advancement of faith and learning in Beaver Falls, Beaver County, Western Pennsylvania, and the nation.
