In a newly published study by the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP), Geneva College is reported to have an annual economic impact of $93.2 million annually with the support of 843 jobs statewide.
This research is published by the nationally recognized Parker Strategy Group from data collected in 2023, highlighting the impact of Pennsylvania’s independent, nonprofit colleges and universities on the statewide economy.
Geneva is estimated to support 843 jobs across Pennsylvania. This includes 602 direct jobs by the College and 240 indirect and induced jobs in supporting industries. These employment roles span sectors such as retail, hospitality, health care, and construction, reflecting the strong influence of Geneva’s operations, capital projects, and industry demand in our region and state.
The study also estimates that Geneva generates approximately $7.2 million annually in tax revenues to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and local governments. These revenues stem from sales tax, property tax, personal income tax, and corporate income taxes.
Using the IMPLAN software, the study captured the full spectrum of Geneva’s financial impact, factoring in operational spending, wages and benefits, student and visitor spending, and household income effects.

This report indicates Geneva College’s continuing role not only as an academic institution but as a force in local and statewide economic development, enriching local businesses and supporting public services through job creation and tax contributions.
