Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College Foundation launched the public phase of its $36.2 million Advancing Faith & Learning capital campaign on Friday, October 24. With $34.6 million already given and committed and only $1.6 million left to raise, the public phase will run through December 31, 2025.
The Advancing Faith & Learning capital campaign supports the mission of the College by focusing on three goals: increasing Geneva’s endowment, constructing the Dwight E. Wagner Welcome Center, and revitalizing the College’s central academic building, Old Main. Having met or exceeded campaign goals for the endowment and the Welcome Center, the public phase now solely focuses on raising the remaining $1.6 million for the Old Main renovations.
Significant support for this campaign has come from the leadership boards of the College, with the Board of Trustees, Board of Corporators, and the Foundation Board together giving or committing more than $9 million.
Geneva College Foundation President Marvin Dewey, EdD says, “This philanthropic leadership from the boards demonstrates their commitment to the vision of this campaign. Likewise, the faculty and staff of Geneva have committed more than $260,000. And to have that kind of generosity flow from them is just a ‘wow!’ This generosity demonstrates their belief in the importance of this campaign to the future of Geneva College.”
During the quiet phase of the campaign, alumni and friends of the College have met the goal for endowment growth, and have also committed more than $14.6 million toward the capital projects, the Welcome Center and Old Main renovations. Currently under construction, the fully funded Dwight E. Wagner Welcome Center is envisioned as the “front porch” of the Geneva College campus, providing a central hub for prospective students and their families when they visit. Designed with a focus on hospitality, the facility will offer a warm and welcoming space for all visitors, playing a pivotal role in the College’s continued efforts to enhance enrollment and strengthen connections within the broader community.

Planned Old Main renovations include installing an elevator, a zero-clearance entrance, and accessible restrooms to make the building accessible to all students and members of the college community. Sprinklers will also be installed for fire prevention, and John White Chapel will be revamped into a state-of-the-art performance venue with a lowered and expanded stage, new seating, permanent lighting, and improved acoustics. These improvements to the building will serve students, faculty, and staff, as well as open the building for more use by the Beaver County community.
“What kind of vision has God given for you, in terms of wanting to see the ministry of education continue for a long time after we are alive?” Geneva College President Calvin L. Troup, PhD asks, “Because that’s the heritage we have received. We have blessings — buildings we’ve studied in, places we’ve walked, fields on which we’ve competed, places we’ve had opportunity to sing and perform — that were given to us by previous generations. And all we want to do is to invite you at a very important time in the College’s life to think about participating — at whatever level the Lord has prospered you and enabled you — to think about making a gift to complete the campaign work.”
