Important Information!
Your Bill from Geneva College
We're so glad that you're part of the Geneva College community. While it is your responsibility to pay for your education, we want to help you understand your eBill and online Nelnet Student Account, and identify ways that the process can be easier for you. Hopefully you will find this enewsletter to be helpful.

Accessing Your Bill
You are sent an email when your eBill is ready to be viewed. It will come at about the same time that you're receiving this enewsletter. You may then go to your Nelnet Student Account to view your eBill.

How do you do that? Go to your myGeneva account and click on the Student Financial Services icon.

From here, you can manage all aspects of your Student Account from viewing your eBill, making online payments, setting up payment plans, checking your student account balances, managing Student Choice Refund and much more.

Haven't set up your Student Account yet? Students—not parents or any other third party—must do so.

Understanding Your Bill
Your eBill captures what you owe at the moment that your bill is sent. You may review current information about what you owe at any time by checking your online Student Account.

FINANCIAL AID
Don't see your Grants and Scholarships identified on your bill? You have to accept them first. And there's a separate portal for that.

Is your bill missing identification of outside scholarships? You must notify Student Financial Services (SFS) that you are receiving them. The Student Financial Services Advisor will help you to access them.

Does it appear that only half of the financial aid you should be receiving is referenced on the bill? Remember, your financial aid is usually identified in annual terms – or the total you receive each year. Your bill is for one semester of room and board – or half of a year.

AUTHORIZED PARTY
By law, only the student can set up the Student Account. However, you the student can allow an Authorized Party such as parents, spouse, grandparents or others to be able to see your eBill, make online payments to your account or set up a Payment Plan on your behalf.

HEALTH INSURANCE
It is a legal requirement for all students to have medical insurance coverage. If you don't have your own private health insurance, Geneva will provide you with coverage under the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), for which you will be billed. If you have your own your own insurance and don't need SHIP, please waive it with the appropriate form. The deadline to waive the insurance is September 10, 2021. If you need insurance, please enroll in SHIP using that appropriate form. Links for both forms are below.

REFUNDS
Refunds from the college may be distributed via direct deposit to a bank account established in the student's name. Following Federal regulations, they will not be deposited directly into any other account.

What You Owe
Many students find themselves with a gap between their financial aid package and the cost of college. We're aware of the challenges that amount can create, and strive to help students be knowledgeable of options and pursue the approach that will work best for them.

FUNDING YOUR EDUCATION
Geneva Student Financial Services has put together an informative document with a variety of means to fund the gap of money owed for college education.

UTILIZING THE PAYMENT PLAN
Geneva offers a payment plan option for students who are eligible. The payment plan is an affordable way to meet your financial obligation to Geneva College without taking additional loans to cover the cost. The payment plan program is operated by Nelnet, which charges $25 for administration. There is no additional fee or interest charged. There are two choices—a five-month plan and a four-month plan.

RESIDENCE LIFE
Living on campus is an enriching, important and preferred part of the college experience at Geneva whenever possible. Students may live off campus if they meet one of the requirements identified by the College and receive approval for commuter status.

Without approval, students will be billed for rooming at Geneva.

MEAL PLANS
We offer a variety of meal plans to suit the differing needs of students. In order to provide the food in ways that are necessary, we need to know in advance what meal plans are selected. Please submit your option by August 10 for the fall semester. (And January 2 for the spring semester.)

While all students have choices, upperclassmen have more options than freshman students.
