Expanding Online
Kristen Graf had a long-time desire to finish her undergraduate degree. And after working in the field of human resources for 17 years, her desire to complete her degree only grew stronger. But she wasn’t sure how she could balance college with her work and family life. Then she heard about Geneva College’s online Adult Degree Programs.
Geneva’s vision to make completing an undergraduate degree for adults convenient and affordable was realized in 1988 with the creation of the Adult Degree Programs, which are geared to adults with busy lives. Geneva recently overhauled the Adult Degree Programs to offer four majors entirely online and two in a hybrid format—Human Resources (online and hybrid), Child & Family Services (online), Management (online), and Organizational Leadership (online and hybrid).
“I have built relationships with classmates and professors in this program which I will cherish for many years.” |
Kristen, along with her fellow online students, discovered that Geneva’s virtual experience is just as impactful as the classroom setting. “The most beneficial aspect for adult learners is how the professors make themselves available,” says Kristen. “There was never a point in which I felt disconnected from the college. Although the program is online, I felt I was receiving the benefits of a traditional classroom environment. I have built relationships with classmates and professors in this program that I will cherish for many years.”

That’s one of the most important differences between Geneva’s online programs and those offered by some other colleges according to John Gallo, Dean of Graduate, Adult and Online Programs. “Our faculty approach teaching the same way, no matter the delivery method. The integration of faith and learning is central to the curriculum of both online and on-the-ground programs, and students are never treated as numbers.”
Geneva is currently poised to push the reach of its accomplished faculty even further. In addition to the online options of the Adult Degree Programs, Geneva offers a fully online Master’s in Leadership Studies (MSLS), as well as online course options for MBA students.

Plus, for the first time, traditional undergraduate students are now able to register for Summer Online—two eight-week terms of fully online courses in Bible, chemistry, business, education, English and psychology—which can help them complete their degrees on time, or perhaps even early.
And just like Kristen, all of these online students can be certain that they will receive the same academically excellent, Christ-centered and affordable education that they expect from Geneva College.
