Small-Group, Distributed Chapel Continues
Chapel continues to be held every Wednesday in small group locations on campus where students, faculty and staff gather together to focus on the Lord. Chapel, including a common message, is livestreamed each week to all groups at the same time.
Messages for the upcoming weeks will be given by:
- February 10 - Pastor Titus Martin
- February 17 - Dr. Calvin L. Troup
- February 24 – Dr. Will Baker
- March 3 – No Classes/No Chapel
The Geneva community prays that Chapel will be a blessing for all, and they can be viewed live each Wednesday on Geneva's Facebook page or on-demand on Geneva's website.

Practice Daily Health Screening
The daily health screening is an important tool to help Health Services in mitigating the virus in our community, and we expect everyone to complete it daily, whether or not they are on campus. To encourage regular participation in Health Screening, Geneva will charge a $5 fee daily to students who don’t complete it.
Here's additional important information:
- We’re all called to care for our community. Faculty and staff will also be penalized when they don’t complete their Daily Health Screening.
- Students will continue to get a GC Alert reminder early every morning. If they don’t complete the screening, they will get an email reminder later in the day.
- Students will be given three grace "misses" before charges begin.
- All moneys collected will go to improving the isolation and quarantine experience for students.
- While students are encouraged to complete the screening seven days a week, they will not be fined if they miss on Sunday. But it is especially important for everyone to complete the Health Screening when they experience symptoms, no matter the day.

Adverse Weather Procedures
We are in the middle of a Western Pennsylvania winter, and the prognosticating groundhog did not offer us any hope this week for an early spring. No matter, we are prepared for adverse weather that makes travel difficult and, sometimes, dangerous. The college strives to make informed decisions that balance student, faculty and staff safety.
Geneva Provost Dr. Melinda Stephens clarified the policy for attendance related to commuting students during hazardous conditions in an email this week. She wrote that on occasions of adverse weather conditions not sufficient to cancel classes, commuting students who honestly believe that travel to campus may be hazardous may choose not to do so. Faculty may require students to participate in class through remote access. The student must contact the faculty member in advance to notify them that they are unable to travel and receive instructions to connect remotely.

Fighting and Yes, Rising, in the Midst of Pandemic Fatigue...
by Amy Solman LPC, CADC, CTMH, MA- Director Health and Counseling Services for Geneva Students
Is it over yet? When will things go “back to normal?” Have you asked yourself, others these questions lately? I know I sure have. We are living in a time of prolonged distress with no known end in sight. The pandemic, racial awakening, a polarized political climate, and the long, cold, lack of sunlight winter months that Western PA brings us, are all a lot to face. In the midst of this all, I have seen this wonderful community of students, faculty and staff thrive, push through, be resilient and rise. You are amazing!...

Film Fest 2021 will be on Feb. 20, 2021
It’s sure to look a little different than the norm this year, but we are excited to still be able to show off the talent of our community. Film Fest is a night where students dress up for the premieres of other student films. We laugh, we cry, we give out a few awards, and enjoy a night of the arts.

For the health and safety of student-athletes and coaches, outside fans will not be allowed to attend basketball games this spring. However, Geneva is approving a limited number of students to attend most games in Metheny Fieldhouse. (The exception is Men’s Volleyball, with no spectators being allowed due to AMCC restrictions.)
Students can register on Geneva’s Student Ticket Information page in advance. And then bring either an electronic confirmation or printed copy to the game for admittance. Social distancing and mask wearing requirements will be enforced at all games.
Some of the games will be livestreamed for family members, friends, alumni and students unable to attend in person.
