Parents of Graduates, This Info's for You!
Undergraduate Commencement is the morning Monday, May 10.

All graduates received four guest tickets for the commencement ceremony this year.  To follow COVID-19 protocols, the four tickets are assigned as a cluster or grouping, and the individual tickets may not be given to anyone else. Guest tickets for Undergraduate Commencement were placed in student mailboxes on Monday, April 26.  December graduates' tickets were mailed to their home address.  Commencement tickets are also required for entrance for those who have requested ADA seating.

Undergraduate Commencement will be held outside at Reeves Stadium at 10 a.m. – rain or shine – unless there is a lightning storm or torrential downpour. Should this be the case, the decision to move to inside Metheny Fieldhouse will be made on Sunday, May 9 by 8 a.m. and posted on the Geneva website.

If Undergraduate Commencement is moved inside, we will follow an alternate schedule.

Student Internships

Geneva believes that practical learning experiences are important to a student's college education and could be key to student success after graduation. While it's important for students to stay focused and earn the best grades possible throughout their college career, they may also want to explore internship opportunities in which they can apply their new knowledge.

Companies and organizations of all sizes offer college internship programs that are designed to provide students with real-world experience prior to graduation. In addition to helping students develop the skills that they may need for life outside of the classroom, internships also often provide college students with networking opportunities to help them launch their careers.

Point your interested students to some of the real benefits of internships in this Geneva Blog.

Operation Move-Out Donations

Thinking about how the amount of stuff your student will bring home compares to the size of your vehicle? Here's a good way for your student to do some reduction while doing some good by donating unwanted/unneeded items.

Furniture and other useful items in good condition can be donated at the designated residence hall lounges Wednesday and Thursday of finals week, May 5-6 (No later than Thursday 5 p.m.).  Students should mark items with a "Free" sign and other students may take marked items once donated. Remaining items will be donated to a thrift store or food bank or sold to Geneva students in the fall.

Acceptable donations: furniture (NO sleeper sofas), small appliances, kitchen items, clean sheets, clean towels, blankets, cleaning supplies, or other items in good condition that someone else might want to use.  Non-Perishable food items (Unopened items that do not need to be refrigerated).

Students can even volunteer to help move furniture on Wednesday or Thursday evening, May 5-6. This service project is sponsored by the Creation Care Club, led by Professor Tobias mctobias@geneva.edu.
