MSOL Instructor Receives 2012 Women of Integrity Award

BonnieBudzowski_web.jpgIntegrity. Credibility. Ethical morality. Geneva′s M.S. in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) program was founded on these concepts. We believe these qualities can be developed in the classroom and further demonstrated by MSOL instructors. Professionals both inside and outside the classroom, MSOL faculty members serve as ministers, authors, speakers, military officers, radio and television hosts, business owners, financial consultants, and human resource professionals, in addition to time spent in the classroom.

Pittsburgh Professional Women™, a resource organization for business women in western PA, honors four Pittsburgh-area women with the Women of Integrity Award each December. Pittsburgh Professional Women received 120 nominations for this year's award. MSOL students who have attended one of Professor Bonnie Budzowski′s Writing Workshops or received materials in her “Writing for Success” online program won′t be surprised to learn that she was one of the recipients.

Criteria for the award include

  • Use of business experience to positively influence the community
  • Commitment to leadership and ethics
  • Ability to overcome special circumstances
  • Commitment to community service and volunteerism

Dr. James Dittmar, Director of the MSOL  Program, says,

Bonnie is a person of great quality. Her collaborative, engaging, and helpful demeanor makes working with her a real joy. Faculty and students who have experienced her presence in the classroom would agree. I have received many unsolicited, complimentary notes from students and faculty praising Bonnie for the quality of both the content and delivery of her lessons. Without a doubt, the work that Bonnie has contributed to our adult undergraduate and graduate programs at Geneva College has impacted the lives of many in a very positive way.

In addition to her work with MSOL and Geneva′s Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCP), Bonnie has served as the President of the National Speakers Association (NSA), Pittsburgh Chapter. On a national level, she was appointed Managing Editor of Speaker Magazine and received a Distinguished President′s Award for her service. Bonnie served as Dean of the NSA Pittsburgh Mentor Program, designing and overseeing a program to help new speakers jumpstart their careers.

As President of inCredible Messages, Bonnie currently helps entrepreneurs turn their expertise into books, articles and social media content that builds business. Over the past few years, Bonnie has been instrumental in guiding eight first-time authors to realize their dream of completing a book.

In the past year, Bonnie weathered a serious bout with cancer with faith and grace, managing to maintain her business and keep family a priority in the process. Results of recent tests show that Bonnie is now cancer free.

Bonnie′s Writing Workshop is unique to the Geneva ADCP and MSOL programs. We are blessed to have her as a friend and faculty member, and we rejoice with Bonnie at her return to health and her well-deserved award.
