Living the Life of Leadership

D. Jeff McGee (MSOL ′13)

D. Jeff McGee completed the MSOL program with Cohort 82, which met in Monroeville. After graduation, Jeff and his wife moved to Arizona. We asked Jeff to talk with us about the MSOL experience:

I have been told ever since I was little kid that I had the gift of leadership. I made the mistake of thinking that was all I needed. Like many, I have learned that even “natural-born leaders” lack the wisdom and knowledge to lead. And as Christians, it is vital that we learn the true meaning of leadership as distinct from the secular definition of the word.

I chose the MSOL program at Geneva College because I simply wanted to learn what God said about leaders. As a follower of Christ, I wanted my leadership to model the biblical way. The best thing about going through the MSOL program was not just learning the leadership principles, theories and models, but growing closer in my relationship with Christ.

jeff-mcgee.jpgI would highly recommend the MSOL program to any aspiring or current leader who is seeking to simply lead God′s way. Putting God first in anything we do is fundamental in any leadership capacity we may ever fill. Being able to showcase God′s love to others is a privilege. I will be starting a position in January 2014 as a professor at Kingdom Bible College and Seminary in Tucson, Arizona, teaching courses in Christian Counseling. It is a brand new school that is currently forming, and this allows me to utilize the leadership skills I have learned through MSOL. Because of skills and knowledge acquired in this program, I have the opportunity to become the Director of Christian Counseling.

I am very thankful for what God has done in my life. Completing the MSOL degree is one of my most memorable accomplishments. The program will open doors for you that you never imagined. With it and God leading you, accomplishing the impossible is truly possible.

Over 1,000 leaders have graduated from the MSOL program. New cohorts are starting at the beginning of 2014. For more information, call 724-847-2715, email msol@geneva.edu or visit www.geneva.edu/graduate/msol/msol.

A Word from Dr. Dittmar

henry-cloud.jpgBlogTalkRadio

HAVE YOU HEARD? MSOL is broadcasting live, weekly interviews featuring faculty, staff and alumni via BlogTalkRadio. MSOL faculty member Dr. John Stanko hosts these interviews and does a wonderful job interacting with each guest. By listening to these broadcasts, I've learned a great deal more about the lives and interests of the guests and what the MSOL program means to each one.

Broadcasts take place live every Friday at 4 p.m. But if you're not available at that time, each interview is archived on our BlogTalkRadio Web page so that you can listen to them anytime. The number of people who have listened to these interviews is amazing—more than 8,100 to date!

The Web page is www.blogtalkradio.com/genevacollegemsol. Please pass the link along to others who may be interested in the MSOL program. It′s a great recruiting tool!
