2026 Career Fair Attended By Over Half of the Student Body

Students interacting with potential employers at the Career Fair

The 2026 Geneva College Career Fair had an excellent turnout this year with over half of the undergraduate student body in attendance. The annual event was attended by 525 students — the highest number of student attendees yet.

Ninety-three vendors were in attendance at the February 24 event, representing engineering firms, law enforcement agencies, military branches, summer camps, sales and insurance companies, graduate schools, and health care organizations. A handful of these vendors represented Geneva alumni or companies that have been in sustained partnership with the College. This variety attracted students from many different fields of study, all eager to network with professionals and explore potential career paths.

Students came prepared to talk with vendors, thanks in part to services offered on campus in advance. Geneva's Center for Calling & Career offered resume writing help, a service that is available year-round. The Center for Student Engagement hosted a fully funded thrifting trip to help students find professional business attire. Many professors regularly require students to practice professionalism through in-class activities in which students build the confidence and communication skills necessary to represent themselves well.

Career Fair staff members kept the crowds moving through an organized funnel. Arriving students received name tags, a bag, and informational materials before moving downstairs to meet the vendors.

Campus leaders were present at the Career Fair, mingling with vendors and checking in on students. Among those greeting attendees was Dean of Student Affairs Jamie Swank, who kindly checked in with students and staff multiple times throughout the event. Over 100 staff and faculty members from many different positions on campus attended the event, ensuring that everyone had a chance to receive assistance if they needed it.

Faculty also furthered the fun of this event through a prize system that rewarded students who engaged with vendors. Students could use business signatures to earn tickets for various raffles. Another series of prizes were given to randomly selected students simply for attending the fair.

The Career Fair had a noticeable sense of excitement and engagement from all attendees throughout the dayThe staff was enthusiastic to welcome studentshelping them feel confident and ready to interact with vendors. Visiting representatives met students who were prepared and knowledgeable, making the conversations and the overall day enjoyable and beneficial for the businesses that attended.

Geneva’s 2026 Career Fair proved its commitment to preparing students for successful careers and lifelong service by equipping them with the skills, confidence, and relationships that will help them make a meaningful impact in their professions and communities.
