Pat Myers - Ligonier Camp & Conference Center

Pat Myers“Go Golden Tornadoes!”  Those were alumni Patrick (Pat) Myers’ last words at the end of his visit to the Geneva Student Ministry Office in Old Main. He is a proud 1994 Geneva grad, with an undergraduate degree in Music Education and a graduate degree from the Master’s of Higher Ed program. “That was before Geneva had a Student Ministry major,” says Pat.

After a stint serving with the Coalition of Christian Outreach (CCO), Pat took a job as full-time Program Director at the Ligonier Camp & Conference Center in Ligonier PA. He stepped into the Executive Director position in 2003, and he has been relishing the opportunity to use his God-given gifts (and Geneva experiences and education) to create a vision for the camp, and to work with campers and staff to help them become who God has created them to be.

“At Geneva, I was encouraged to develop my leadership abilities and take on leadership roles,” Pat says.  “For example, I led a Bible study on campus. God used the community at Geneva to develop me spiritually, personally and professionally.”

A primary component of Ligonier Camp’s ministry is to provide outdoor adventure experiences such as ropes courses and climbing. Ligonier and Geneva’s Adventure Learning Program have partnered to share leadership and facilities. In addition, Pat has maintained a relationship with Geneva by inviting professors, such as Terry Thomas, Doug Bradbury, Jonathan Watt and Brad Frey, to speak at camp events. He also actively recruits Geneva students to serve on summer staff at Ligonier. He has found that Geneva students are Biblically literate, spiritually mature and make great connections with campers and fellow staffers to further the Kingdom of Christ.
