Need 2 Know!

Keeping a Healthy Campus

Geneva sends your student a daily text reminder to complete a health screening form before coming to campus. It's important to stay diligent with these screenings and other measures for the health of our community. Our President, Dr. Calvin L. Troup, gave students a message focusing on COVID fatigue and health screenings.

Have Thermometer. Will Screen.

All students at Geneva are required to have their own thermometer. It doesn’t matter if it’s oral, temporal, old or new – it just needs to be your student's and to be used daily for the daily Health Screening.

Students can pick up a thermometer at a store like CVS or Walmart or order it online at Amazon.com or a similar website. In these days of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s required!

Flu Shots

During this time of a global pandemic, it’s more important than ever to mitigate flu outbreaks whenever possible. For that reason, Geneva is offering more on-campus Flu Clinic sessions than ever before. It couldn’t be more convenient for students to get their flu shot on campus. Encourage your student to get a flu shot this season. Check out the details!

Chapel at Geneva

Chapel is underway every Wednesdays at 10:10 a.m. in multiple small groups across campus. The new delivery via Facebook Livestreaming of this integral part of the Geneva College experience enables the community to focus on God and His word together – just it’s a little different than it’s been in the past.

A 100-Year Event

Yes, it’s tough living through COVID. But our country has been through these types of things before. Did you ever hear about the Spanish Influenza of 1918?

“Over one hundred years ago, the world was fighting a virus that infected about 500 million people — approximately one-third of the world’s population. The 1918 flu was notorious for its high mortality rate in healthy people, particularly those between the ages of 20 to 40. Geneva College, like many institutions, felt the weight of the infection...” Check out this article from the Summer 2020 Issue of Geneva Magazine with research by college archivist Kae Kirkwood ‘83.

The Jannuzi Tennis Courts have been resurfaced.

This is great news for our tennis team and for our community, and we’re thankful for the improvement. Please know that since the courts have been resurfaced, they will be used for tennis only, whith the exception of any activities organized by Student Development.
