Need 2 Know!

No Mistake, it’s FAFSA Time

It's that time again! Don't forget to have your student fill out their 2021-2022 FAFSA for the upcoming year. Students can download the app and fill it out right from their device. Send them to studentaid.gov to complete the FAFSA now!

New Mealtime Spots

As the weather becomes a bit chillier, student dining under the tents is less appealing. So, the college is making room for more indoor places to eat. Of course, there’s Alex’s dining hall and the Brig, but now students can also take grab-n-go items to new locations, such as: Northwood Hall ground floor lobby; S&E second floor lobby; or Alex’s lower hallway.

We’ll open more locations if needed. Stay tuned!

Course Registration Opens Nov. 3

Students may begin registering for Spring 2021 courses beginning Tuesday, November 3.

In addition, Geneva will offer a fully online Winter Term from December 9, 2020 to January 15, 2021. Costs for Winter Term are the same as Summer Term - $333/credit.

Final Course Withdrawal Date

November 2 is the last day to withdraw from one class by 4:30 p.m. (WP, WF or WX grade). For new freshmen, November 16 is the last date to withdraw from ONE course.

December Graduates

Due to our condensed schedule, the December Graduation Reception will be a bit earlier than normal, November 21 and it will be live-streamed for viewing by parents, friends and family. Note: Students may invite two guests FROM CAMPUS; however, anyone living off campus, including parents, cannot be included as guests due to COVID-19 protocols.

If your student is planning to graduate this December but did not receive an email from the Provost's office in the past few weeks regarding the December Graduation event, he or she should contact the Registrar’s office.

Chapel at Geneva

Chapel is underway every Wednesdays at 10:10 a.m. in multiple small groups across campus. The new delivery via Facebook Livestreaming of this integral part of the Geneva College experience enables the community to focus on God and His word together – just it’s a little different than it’s been in the past.

You can watch any Chapel live on Wednesday mornings or watch replays on-demand.

Help with Your Student’s Tax Documents

Geneva has partnered with ECSI to help students with tax documents, enabling the opportunity to receive the 1098-T Tuition Statement electronically this year. If students would like to receive the 1098-T form electronically, they need to provide their information and follow the instructions.

Lounge Visitation Trial Run for Residents

Due to our low number of COVID-19 cases on campus and the cooperation of students in following protocols, the college conducted a trial run of opening our residence hall lounges for resident student communal gathering spaces. The Residence Life team is assessing the results of the trial run to determine if lounge visitation may continue.

Stay Near to Stay Safe

The college is encouraging students to stay on campus and stay healthy. COVID-19 cases are rising in Pennsylvania and across the country. A weekend visit could result in unintended spread of the disease. The CDC has shared that transmission is occurring frequently from small group settings of 6-10 people. So we’re reminding students to please remain diligent and on campus (if possible) to help our community remain healthy for the rest of the semester. Then your student can come home healthy for Thanksgiving!

The South End of Campus Shines!

The south end of campus has undergone a number of improvements this year. With a new gate entrance, sidewalk, fencing and lighting, the area of the track and practice soccer field (Merriman Athletic Complex) is looking a bit different. The improvements are thanks to generous Geneva donors.

Check out the details below – and also view a time lapse video of the wind screen being put up on the stadium. We hope you enjoy the view for yourself soon!

The Student Veterans Association and Military Enrollment Specialist Beth Wiruth organized a send-off celebration for Nursing major Corey White as he deploys for military duty. With American flags, signs of support, and prayer, the Geneva community gathered to wish Corey well, commit him to the Lord's care, and assure him that he'd remain in thoughts and prayers during his time away.
