Geneva College - Parents FYI Newsletter - April 22, 2020

Welcome!
The purpose of Parents FYI is to combine important information from Geneva College to parents of Geneva students into one email communication. We hope it is valuable, particularly at this time when we are forced to provide online education and are communicating via electronic technology. It will be sent to you every Wednesday through the rest of the Spring 2020 semester. If you have feedback or questions regarding Parents FYI, please contact editor@geneva.edu.

Need 2 Know!

Room & Board Reimbursement

Geneva is reimbursing students for prorated Room and Board, and certain course fees – which totals approximately $1.5 million. We recently informed students of their specific reimbursement amounts.

We will send reimbursements via direct deposit through the federal clearinghouse system to begin arriving in bank accounts as early as Monday, April 27. The specific timing depends on each bank’s processes. Where applicable, printed checks will be mailed April 27.

May@Geneva Will be Totally Online

Because of the ongoing Coronavirus crisis and the uncertainty surrounding whether Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolfe will permit educational institutions to reopen in May, summer classes that were scheduled to meet on campus will be moved online. Students can anticipate that the class schedule will remain as published unless their professors contact them to discuss a different schedule. Questions about summer courses can be directed to the professors of individual classes or to CrossRoads.

Geneva College Health Services
So what are the DOs and DON’Ts of wearing a cloth mask? What should you do if you are considered to be at-risk? And if you’ve been feeling stressed out about everything that’s going on, how can you get the anxiety under control?
For tips on these questions and much more, check out and keep going back to Geneva’s Health Services Facebook page.

A Special Message to Seniors
By Krista Autrey, Director for the Center for Calling and Career

Krista Autrey tells soon-to-be graduates, “In light of what we’re walking through nationally, it could be a good time to reflect on what you have been called to now and what you have to contribute where you are. Even now we can be learning more about our current and future vocations.”
