Honoring Commitments to Each Other

A message to students from Dean of Student Development Jamie Swank:

Our greatest desire as College faculty and staff is to finish this semester with you on campus. To do so, we need to have a clear response to those who may choose not to engage in mask wearing, physical distancing, and the other related requests of College staff and faculty.

It was our hope that such a response would not be needed. But to honor the sacrifices of the majority of our campus community who have engaged so faithfully and to protect the health and safety of our campus, we will now have a two-step response...

First Chapel of Semester

The Geneva College community participated in the first Chapel of the semester this week. Chapel is celebrated live every Wednesday morning and broadcast to small groups around campus during this period of physical distancing. Each Chapel session is broadcast on Facebook Live, as well. You can view yesterday's Chapel on-demand, too.

Fighting COVID-19

Students, faculty and staff have a chance to do something about COVID-19... participate in research conducted by the Mayo Clinic Antibody Study. The final day to volunteer to be a part is Fri., Sep. 4 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Students will get results from their blood sample about the presence of antibodies to COVID-10 and other viruses. Students will also earn a Chapel credit when they complete a first test now and a second test later in the semester.

Far Greater Than Six Feet Apart

by Geneva Junior, Abby Forton

"Separation from the people you love, the places you enjoy visiting and the friends you want to spend time with really hurts. For introverts and extroverts alike, this pandemic has left people wondering why we didn’t cherish face-to-face interactions more before the impact of the coronavirus..."
