It's no secret that students enjoy access to a high-quality education and a close-knit community at Geneva College, but the benefits of attending this acclaimed Christian university extend far beyond the classroom and dormitory. From tutoring and academic counseling to YMCA membership, Geneva offers a variety of services designed to make college life more rewarding.

1. Peer Tutoring

Classes at Geneva can be rigorous, but there are always plenty of options available for mastering your academic material and acing your exams. After you've stopped by your professor's office for feedback, feel free to hit up the Student Success Center, located in the Student Center. The Student Success Center offers free peer tutoring services, from students who have completed the course with high grade point averages. These students come highly recommended by Geneva's finest faculty members.

2. Free Laundry

There's no need to scrounge for quarters or let your dirty clothes pile up; free laundry is available for Geneva students. Each residence hall has a laundry facility, complete with plenty of washing machines and dryers. Students only need to provide their own detergent and dryer sheets.

3. Fitness Center

As schedules become more and more busy, finding the time to excercise can be difficult, but that why having an on-campus fitness center is such a blessing. Physical exercise is beneficial for personal health and academic success, so having an easily accesible space for excercise is convenient for busy students. Open to all students and faculty members, our fitness center boasts several cardio and weight training machines, along with an open space for flexibility training. Also, students have free access to the Beaver County YMCA, only 12 minutes away, if they want access to more equipment, including a swimming pool.

4. The Writing Center

For many students, writing papers is not the most exciting assignment, however, between the humanities and Bible classes, every student will have to write at least a few papers. Luckily, the college provides the writing center as a resource for students who might need a little extra help. Located in the library, the writing center offers appointments and walk-in hours, and is staffed by students who have been trained to provide assistance. Whether a student needs help outline or just needs someone to read over their final draft, the writing center is there to help.

 

5. Career Counseling and Assessment

Classes and student life may be the focus now, but a proactive approach to career planning will ensure that you land a job soon after you obtain your degree. Get yourself on track with career counseling and assessment at Geneva College. Geneva's Center for Calling and Career can help you determine which major is a good fit and how you can best put it to use after graduation.
