Geneva College is launching a Direct Admission initiative with four Beaver County partner schools this fall. Through this initiative Geneva College will offer guaranteed admission to any student who has a 3.0 GPA or higher at one of the partner schools.  

Direct Admission is launching this September with Beaver Falls High School, Beaver Area School District, Blackhawk High School, and Riverside High School. The goal of the partnership is to create enrollment pathways for students and their families and remove some of the mystery and complexity that families face when applying for college. Additionally, it will help students understand that going to college is attainable.  

“Through this collaboration, eligible graduates will be granted direct admission to Geneva College, reducing barriers to higher education and creating new opportunities for our students to confidently pursue their academic and career goals,” said Dr. Trisha Huston, Director of Student Services, Blackhawk School District. 

In the first year of the partnership, students at the three launch schools will receive their Direct Admission offer in the mail in early fall. Students will receive an admission offer and an academic scholarship commensurate with their high school GPA.  

Conversations are already underway to expand the program to other high schools in Beaver County. “This initiative is focused on strengthening our ties in Beaver County and supporting our high schools in serving our local community, said Willem de Ruijter, Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing at Geneva College. “The Direct Admission program helps remove one of the major barriers that families face in considering college.” 

Speaking on the initiative, Beaver County Commissioner Jack Manning said, “Geneva College has been at the forefront in enhancing quality of life in Beaver County. This initiative is another example of Geneva investing in our future by providing enrollment pathways for Beaver County students and their families. It’s another reason why I so appreciate Geneva’s partnership in helping us continue to build the workforce needed to grow Beaver County.”  

The Direct Admission initiative supports Geneva’s Tuition Promise, which covers all tuition costs for any eligible student in Pennsylvania who comes from a family earning less than $70,000 annually.
