Private Scholarships

Many students are able to significantly reduce their cost of college with scholarships from various private sources.  The key, of course, is to seek this funding out. Organizations of every kind within your local community, state or region may offer scholarships.  The effort you spend looking for scholarships is time well spent and could earn you a big pay off.

Searching the internet, visiting your local library, talking to employers, and consulting your high school guidance counselor will give you a good start.  Also check out:

We would caution you against paying a fee for a scholarship search- often companies who charge a fee are fraudulent. When you receive funds from a private scholarship, you must report those funds to the Financial Aid Office by submitting a copy of the notification letter (finaid@geneva.edu).

Note: These scholarship search websites have come to the attention of the Student Financial Services Office at Geneva College and are intended to help you be aware of scholarship options. Inclusion on this list does not represent an endorsement.
