Operation Move-Out (Drop-Off & Exchange Event)
Do you have furniture in your dorm room that you can't take home with you? Before you pitch it, consider donating it. Furniture and other useful items in good condition can be donated at the designated residence hall lounges Wednesday and Thursday, May 4 & 5 of Finals Week (No later than Thursday 5pm). Mark items with a "Free" sign. You may take any items that others have donated. Remaining items will be donated to a thrift store or food bank or sold to Geneva students in the fall.
The Geneva Songbirds club will be hosting a battle of the bands in the pavilion by McKee from noon to 3pm on Saturday, April 30. Come and enjoy food, live music, and good vibes… a great break during your studying for finals.
Commencement/Baccalaureate
Geneva observes Baccalaureate and Commencement with the class of 2022. A Baccalaureate service will be held at 7pm on Friday, May 6 in Metheny Fieldhouse. The Traditional Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be outside at Reeves Field (weather permitting) at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 7. The Graduate and Adult Degree Commencement will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 in Metheny Fieldhouse.
Residence halls will close to all students next week at the conclusion of the semester. When do you need to be moved out? Non-graduating students deadline is May 6 at 5pm. Students who are graduating need to move out by May 7 at 6pm.
The Eight Bells, Geneva College's men's acapella group, are excited to announce the return of the annual Eight Bells Concert, celebrating the 55th anniversary of the ensemble's founding. Under the direction of Benjamin Kennedy '18, the Eight Bells will perform at 6pm on Tuesday, May 3, under the new Geneva College pavilion in the center of campus.
Geneva College has welcomed a new course materials partner, Slingshot. Slingshot will move into the campus store later this summer and launch its premier course material subscription service to all new Geneva students starting in the Fall 2022 term. For Summer 2022 term, students may place orders through the Slingshot portal at geneva.slingshotedu.com.
Continuing students (like you) can opt-in to Slingshot to receive your books automatically before classes start this fall.
A contractor began demolishing the former DeAngelis Donut Shop on 4th Avenue this week. Parking at the Integrated Media Center (aka IMC or Radio Station) next to the donut shop will be restricted. Both areas will be closed until the donut shop is completely leveled. Please plan accordingly.
Geneva College hosts the Beaver Falls National Day of Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 7:30 a.m. in Alexander Dining Hall. A light breakfast will be provided following the service. Speakers include the Reverend Dr. Jeff Arnold, Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Beaver, and President Troup.
Want to learn how to make high-quality video? Register for COM 255 Video Production for Fall 2022. All majors welcome. The course, which used to be called Studio Production, is repeatable, meaning you can take COM 255 again as a new course.
