Graduate School

Considering Graduate School?

Why Graduate School

Graduate School is meant for those students wanting to pursue advanced study or a professional program once a bachelor's degree is obtained.  Graduate programs typically range from 36 - 45 credit hours, but vary depending on the program.  A doctorate degree can be considered before receiving a master's degree, but most often obtained after a master's degree.  Generally, the doctoral programs are research intensive.

It is most important to evaluate the reasons for advanced degrees and to plan accordingly.  Speaking with faculty or a career counselor is advised.  Graduate school and doctoral study are investments in your future!

When Should I Consider Graduate School?

Students in pre-professional programs often consider graduate school early on in their undergraduate years.  Those pursuing general graduate school programs should initiate the process during their junior year.  Many students decide to gain related experience after graduating before beginning their advanced degree.
