In the Department of Communication at Geneva College houses three distinct majors, Communication Media & Rhetoric, Communication Design, and Communication Disorders, as well as the theater program. In these programs, students learn to think deeply about how we can reflect God’s truth, engage the world with grace, and give voice to the marginalized. Communication Media & Rhetoric majors are prepared as full complement communication professionals, providing instruction in various media, rhetorical theory, and qualitative inquiry via the phenomenological method. Our Communication Design major appeals to students who are interested in fine art practice with a desire for professional service to a given mission or agenda. And Communication Disorders prepares students for graduate school in speech-language pathology or audiology and rewarding careers in medical and educational settings. Rooted in a Christ-centered perspective, our programs raise up graduates who are thoughtful designers, compassionate caregivers, and creative storytellers in service to God and neighbor.
