Current Projects

  • Exploring the knotting and linking of magnetic field lines generated by current carrying wires. Investigating topological structures to better understand four dimensional dynamical systems, such as three body gravitational interactions. Massively parallel computation with GPUs.

  • Mathematical and computational physics with an emphasis on topology and group theory in nonlinear dynamics and chaos, electromagnetism, and relativity.

Academic Distinctives

During the 2023 Academic Year, Dr. Cross oversaw two succesful NOYCE scholar research projects, conducted by Emerson Spear and Peter Lewis.

Dr. Cross has worked as a reviewer for the American Journal of Physics for multiple years, and in 2020 he received an AAPT Reviewer Excellence Award.

Dr. Cross is the faculty advisor for the Anime Club.
