BEAVER FALLS, Pa.- It is girl′s week at Geneva as the post-season officially begins this week for women′s tennis and softball. Both teams have qualified for post-season play with the women′s team opening action on Wednesday at the NAIA region 9 tournament in Canton, OH. As for softball, the Golden Tornadoes will host Ursuline College in a best of three qualifying series with the winner advancing into the regional tournament next week.

Geneva′s tennis team finished the regular season with a record of 4-6, including a 3-2 mark in the AMC North, which was good enough for third place. As a result, Geneva will open the single elimination tournament against Cedarville University on Wednesday morning at 9 am at Harvard Park in Canton, OH.

Geneva′s softball team finished its season with a record of 28-21, including an 8-6 record in conference play. With a third place finish in the AMC North, Geneva will host fourth seeded Ursuline College at Koppel Field in the first round. Geneva defeated Ursuline twice in the final week of the regular season.

If Geneva′s tennis team gets past Cedarville in round one, it would move on to meet top seeded St. Vincent College in the semi-final round on Thursday. The tennis championship is scheduled for 9:00 am on Friday morning. The winner of the regional tournament advances into the national tournament in Mobile, AL from May 15-19.

A victory by Geneva′s softball team would propel them into the eight-team double elimination regional tournament next week at either Ohio Dominican or Notre Dame College. The winner of the softball regional will head to the national tournament in Decatur, Alabama.
