The first of the Colloquia Series starts on September 7, 2006 with Jeremy Rifkin speaking on The Hydrogen Economy and the European Dream. The Colloquia Series is a forum where the Geneva College community engage some of the compelling and provocative socio-cultural, scientific, religious, literary, educational, political, and economic ideas and practices that shape the world and the lives that we lead today and into the future.
Rifkin holds a degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a degree in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He speaks frequently before government, business, labor and civic forums. Since 1994, Rifkin has been a fellow at the Wharton School′s Executive Education Program, where he lectures to CEOs and senior corporate management from around the world on new trends in science and technology and their impacts on the global economy, society and the environment. Mr. Rifkin′s monthly column on global issues appears in many of the world′s leading newspapers and magazines.
The Colloquia will be held at the Geneva College Skye Lounge on Thursday, September 7, 7:00 pm and September 8, 10:10 am.
