Beaver Falls, PA – Last year, it was Brian Hall that played in just two games for the Golden Tornadoes before suffering a season-ending ankle injury. The same injury has bit another starting Geneva linebacker. Bradley Roman, one of Geneva′s top defensive players from a year ago, suffered a broken ankle on Saturday night and will be lost for the rest of the season.

Roman suffered the injury while attempting a tackle in punt coverage. X-Ray′s later that night confirmed the break, which will force him to miss the season. Roman could potentially receive a medical red shirt and return for 2007, but that decision will be made from Roman and the coaching staff based on his plans for graduation, as Roman is currently in his senior year.

“This is a huge blow,” said head coach Geno DeMarco. “Brad is such a great kid and he has worked so hard to become a top player in our league, it is really sad to have to watch him sit out the rest of the season.”

Roman had a pair of tackles on Saturday night prior to the injury. In the first game of the season, Roman came up with six tackles and an interception.

Last year, Roman had 78 tackles and four sacks. He was named an All-Conference performer from the MSFA and a Don Hansen All-American.
